Most campers have tried many different diets, seen nutritionists and dietitians, maybe even attended a fat camp or weight loss spa before – and none of it has worked. At Wellspring Hawaii we focus on a very low-fat, low calorie-density diet full of the food that kids and young adults love—pizza, chicken fingers, brownies and burgers to name a few.

Cutting out fat means reducing the caloric density of what we’re eating, but it doesn’t mean that we reduce the taste, good texture, or pleasurable experience of what we’re eating.

Wellspring's low-fat diet program is unique, but after you experience it, you'll be saying: "This is so simple, why doesn't everyone do it this way?" Daily menus include three delicious meals and two healthy snacks and have been developed by registered dietitians using beloved recipes. No typical "diet food" here for the simple reason that we can't expect campers to change their lifestyle permanently unless the food we're serving is at least as appealing as the food they eat at home.

Instead of restricting all foods and leaving campers hungry - an approach that is not sustainable after campers return home – Wellspring Hawaii has uncontrolled foods available for campers at every meal: fat-free yogurts, tasty fruits, vegetables, homemade soups, fat-free cottage cheese, and more.
